The main objective of the Creative Design Thinking Lab was to get the students to start brainstorming for the final Advance Energy Vehicle (AEV) design. In lab, students were encouraged to think creatively and were taught how to do so through a series of guidelines. Prior to the lab, the students were introduced to the basic knowledge on orthographic sketching and the AEV components, which allowed the students to come up with individual concept design sketches in the lab. At the end, the students were required to come up with one final concept design sketch based on group consensus on what were the best criteria for the AEV. The consensus was reached through detailed analysis of each individual sketch.
Through this lab, students learned that a stronger and a more solid design can be generated through the compilation of each individual design and creativity. This lab also highlighted the importance of teamwork and communication between team members to allow for mutual agreement on the final design. See the executive summary below for a more detailed information of the lab.
