Jasmine Smith, Academic Peer Coach
Jasmine Smith is majoring in Social Work, and would like to use her future degree to help in the foster care system. She was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Jasmine attended Horizon Science Academy Columbus High School, and graduated class of 2020. In her free time, she enjoys doing makeup, cooking, and baking. Jasmine was in the 9th cohort of the Buckeye Generation Learning Community, and decided to come back and work as an academic peer coach. This is her 2nd year as a peer coach. Aside from being a peer coach, Jasmine is also an Office Assistant in McConnell Hall, where she assists all students living on campus. She also won Homecoming Royalty for the 2021 school year. Jasmine is very passionate about advocating for regional campus students, and uses this passion to make the college experience better for everyone. Her dream has always been to help people, and she uses this passion to fuel her work with social justice. After graduation, she hopes to pursue her Master’s Degree in Social Work, with a concentration in foster care and child welfare advocacy.
Kylie Doon, Academic Peer Coach
Kylie Doon is a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry. She was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Kylie attended Worthington Christian High School and graduated in 2021. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, being active, planning for the future, and spending time with loved ones. Kylie joined the Engineering Learning Community as an Academic Peer Coach in the 2022-2023 academic school year. Aside from being a coach, Kylie serves as the Secretary for CAB (Campus Activities Board) and the Secreatry for SCC (Student Cultural Council). She also was a student ambassador over the summer of 2022 and won Homecoming Royalty for the 2022 school year. Kylie is very passionate about service and finds fulfillment in advocating for others. Because of her willingness and desire to help people, after graduation, Kylie plans to further her education and pursue medical school to become an Emergency Room Physician.
