Still accepting applications!

The Engineering Learning Community is still accepting applications to fill a few spots. If you are interested in participating in the program, we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible! We will then work with you to complete your OSU Math Placement Test in order for your application to be considered.

We will continue to accept learning community applications until all spots in the program have been filled.

The Application is located on the left-hand navigation bar.

Please note that priority consideration for housing is no longer available at this time as the deadline to submit the required information has passed.

Application deadline has been extended to April 12th!

We hope you consider applying to one of the most incredible student success programs at Ohio State Newark! Acceptance in the Engineering Learning Community can ensure you get started fall semester with the first year engineering courses that is required for all engineering majors at Ohio State. If accepted, you can also receive priority consideration for residence hall housing if you’d like to live on-campus.

Great news! The application deadline has been extended to Friday, April 12th, which you can access under the “Application” tab on the left-hand navigation bar. Students are encouraged to pay their non-refundable Ohio State Acceptance Fee by this time as well. There is no fee to apply to the learning community. Our program is free and is for the primary purpose to support our students in their success!

If you hope to live in Newark residence hall housing and would like to receive priority consideration for housing with the learning community, you must submit your learning community application by April 12th and submit your housing contract and pay the $350 housing deposit to the Housing Office in Columbus by April 15th for priority consideration. This is earlier than the normal housing deadline and it does not guarantee housing. Be sure to read more information regarding housing under the “Housing” tab to the left.

Once we receive your learning community application, we will email information to you about how to take your OSU Math Placement Test. Students must take the OSU Math Placement and place at pre-calculus or calculus level in order for their learning community application to be considered and receive priority consideration in housing (if that is desired). We encourage you to apply to the learning community as soon as possible to allow time for you to take the required math test by the April 12th deadline.

Once the program is filled, students can still be accepted and added to the wait list. As positions become available, students will then be accepted off of the wait list.

If you have questions, please call our office at 740-755-7881.

We look forward to receiving your application and working with you as you become an Engineering Buckeye this fall!
