Schedule

WEEK 1:

  • Meeting 1 – basic planning, team member jobs, listing specifications
  • Website creation
  • This week the group will start planning the basic properties we want our AEV to have. We also speculate the different properties we must take into account to minimize error and maximize proficiency.

WEEK 2:

  • Meeting 2 – recording of team meeting minutes
  • Lab quiz 1 & 2
  • Website update 1
  • This week the group will begin to build the code for the AEV and get a good handle on how the motors and battery works. The AEV will start to take shape and the group will advance in its process to complete the code that should run the transportation system.

WEEK 3:

  • Meeting 3
  • Lab quiz 3 & 4
  • Continue work on code for AEV and learning AEV parts like the motors. Create a test build of an AEV and test the reflectance sensors.

WEEK 4:

  • Lab quiz 5
  • Each team member creates concept design sketch of AEV and combine best parts of each design and sketch a new design. Create the new design and run it along the track and learn how to upload data on computer. Use concept screening and concept scoring to analyze each design that the group has come up with.

WEEK 5:

  • Advanced R&D Quiz 1
  • Progress Report 1
  • Work on the first Advanced Research &Development Topic

WEEK 6:

  • Committee Meeting 1
  • Grant Proposal
  • Meeting 3
  • Create a design to be 3-d printed. Create a presentation to talk about findings so far.

WEEK 7:

  • Advanced R&D Quiz 2
  • Continue work on first aR&D topic which is testing coasting vs. braking and figure out a usage for the Servo motor.

WEEK 8:

  • R&D Oral Presentation
  • Website Update 3
  • Create a presentation to talk about what we learned in the aR&D tests.

WEEK 9:

  • Progress Report 2
  • Start working on creating Arduino code for AEV to be used in Performance Test 1.

WEEK 10:

  • Spring Break

WEEK 11:

  • CDR Draft
  • Performance Test 1
  • Finish the code for the Performance Test 1. Start work on Performance Test 2.

WEEK 12:

  • Performance Test 2
  • Committee Meeting 2
  • Finish the code for the Performance Test 2 and create a presentation of what we have learned since the last committee meeting

WEEK 13:

  • Progress Report 3
  • Create code to complete Final Performance Test. Find out how much energy is being used during Final Performance Test and alter the code to limit energy used.

WEEK 14:

  • Final Performance Test
  • Final Oral Presentation Draft
  • Fine tune code for Final Performance Test. Work on powerpoint slides for the final presentation.

WEEK 15:

  • Meeting
  • Final Oral Presentation
  • CDR
