Concept Screening and Scoring

Since the Grant Proposal, we got the chance to laser cut our design. This is our final updated design of customized parts.

Stability – How stable the AEV will be on the track at any required speed and any surface

Aerodynamics – AEV is in the shape or has a design that reduces the drag of air while running on the track

Mass – How much the added parts to the AEV weigh the AEV down or make it slower

Aesthetics – How visually pleasing is the AEV’s design

After the Concept Screening and scoring, the group decided to continue on with the team design and Yuhan’s individual design. We think the cool aesthetics of the team design will attract more people and make our AEV more marketable.

 

Data Analysis

Since we used same set of codes, the graph looks very similar to each other. The difference between curves is due to battery issues: different voltages of battery affect the maximum power of AEV, more specifically, the maximum power of our motors.

This graph indicates that the additional parts on our AEV don’t have significant effects on the performance. We can use our new design as success as the previous one.
