Soccer at the Olympic Stadium
There was no better way to end our week abroad than going to Olympic Stadium and watching Berlin’s soccer team, Hertha BSC win against a team from Bavaria. The energy at the stadium was electrifying!
As Ohio State students, it was inspiring to stand in the same stadium where Jesse Owens had won four gold medals in the 1936 Olympics.
The culture of soccer in Europe is quite different than in the States, where soccer is less recognized and appreciated. One could compare the passion that Europeans share for soccer to the passion that Ohio State fans have for our football team.
It was a great experience to share among the passionate fans of Berlin. Wir lieben Berlin!
