Evolution of Team Design

First Design

The AEV above is the first design that group N came up with. For this design, the team tried to use some good features about the plane. For example, due to the special shape of the wings, lift will be generated when AEV moves on the track. Since the lift is oppose to the weight, it kind of reduces the weight of the AEV so that AEV can move faster. In the future, the team will focus more on the size, aerodynamics, and minimization of friction.

Second Design

The AEV above is the second design of group N. For this design, group N tried to minimize the weight of AEV as best as we can. Compared to the previous design, the base of AEV is set to be vertical to the track because the group believes that this structure will help AEV run more stable.

Third Design

The AEV above is the third design and also the current design of group N. In this design, we use a new base which is from laser cutting. We cut off the part that we don’t use for assembling and this reduces the weight of our AEV. Additionally, we place two motors in the opposite direction. Because the final performance test requires the AEV to do two-direction traveling, we believe that the new motor placement will make the AEV become more energy efficient if the suitable Arduino code is provided.
