Johanna Bolanos Zuniga is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lehigh University. Her research applies optimization and data analysis to improve industrial processes and energy systems. She has developed mathematical models and algorithms to address challenges in warehouse management and has expanded her work to the integration of distributed energy resources and virtual power plants using simulation and automation tools to evaluate energy management strategies and support reliable and sustainable grid operations.
As part of her recent work, she analyzed electricity delivery charges across Pennsylvania’s utilities, comparing their growth over time to inflation. This project focused on identifying patterns that may impact household budgets and contribute to affordability challenges, particularly for low-income or low-usage customers.
