Hi Emily, I think this is a great demonstration of how you can find something unexpected to draw through the process of translation from collage! I wonder if you would ever consider drawing this scene if you had not made the collage? Now that you have completed this one, what would you add or change to your next drawing from this translation? I am really interested in the fragments patterns that surround the flower like a kaleidoscope. I am curious also about your choice to not include text on the petals of the flowers? I understand that the text source material you used for the collage might not have related to the subject of your dream, but maybe you would write your own text/words on those petals. At the same time, the drawing could become quite busy and overwhelming, which might not be the thing you want to evoke…
