M3

The third year of medical school is a time to develop the clinical skills needed to be an excellent physician.  These include taking a history, doing a physical, developing a differential diagnosis and presenting your patient.  Much of the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) or Dean’s Letter is based on third year clerkship performance. If possible, do the best you can to secure some Honors or Letter’s of Commendation help your MSPE ranking.  This is probably more important than doing research or other extracurricular activities that might take time away from the wards.
