Hello- I am Eliza, an Ohio State student in the Ohio Plants course this summer!
For more Ohio botany information, visit ohioplants.org, the companion to Ohio Plants (EEOB 2210).
I am an OSU student in the School of Environment and Natural Resources majoring in Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife and specializing in Forestry and Wildlife.
I am from a small town west of Columbus. The Big Darby Creek runs through my backyard, so I grew up fishing, kayaking, swimming, and tromping through the woods. I have always loved nature and the vegetation, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish, and avians to be discovered. I personally enjoy playing guitar, horseback riding, rodeos, hiking, kayaking, fishing, spending time with animals on the farm, and reading in my spare time.
I want to add to my plant knowledge this summer to increase my vegetative identification abilities. This will help me further enjoy being in nature as I can know what I am looking at and be able to inform others as well. Not only is this an asset in a future career, but it is a lifelong skill which can be refined through time.
