Major Pending Election Cases has been a project of Election Law @ Moritz / Election Law at Ohio State since 2004. It is a valued resource for case summaries, comprehensive court filings, and expert commentary about important election law cases from around the nation.
In September 2020, the project was relaunched on its own website that improved access to the election law cases that we track.
- RECENT/CURRENT CASES: Cases that were ongoing or had recently been resolved when the new website was launched in September 2020 can be found on the new website. And we continue to track current cases on a daily basis!
- ARCHIVED CASES: Webpages for 330 cases that EL@M tracked since 2004 and that were resolved prior to 2020 (and a few that were resolved in early 2020) can be viewed through the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. The list of the 330 cases along with links to the archived case pages is below. Please note the following:
- The Internet Archive Wayback Machine can be slow — it’s a huge repository and we are grateful for it.
- Most, but not all, of the PDFs of the case filings are available on the archived case pages. Please contact electionlaw@osu.edu if you need assistance locating the PDF of a case filing – if we can locate it, we’ll get it to you.
- You may note minor differences across the case pages in terms of format or approach. That happens over 15 years.
You can access the original page listing the archived cases HERE through the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.
