About this site
Welcome to the archives for Election Law @ Moritz (EL@M), a program of the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University since 2004. The content preserved here represents the commentary, events, and major projects posted on a succession of websites from mid-2004 to mid-2019. This site also provides access to the archived case pages for 330 election cases that EL@M tracked since 2004 as part of the Major Pending Cases effort — a joint project with the Moritz Law Library. Major Pending Election Cases was relaunched on its own website in September 2020.
Election Law @ Moritz is now Election Law at Ohio State
Archival Notes
- Aside from rare spelling corrections or minor formatting changes, the content here has not be altered from the way it appeared on the EL@M websites.
- Select hyperlinks have been updated so that they point to the same content as originally intended.
- In the Commentary posts, most hyperlinks no longer point to an active page.
- On the Events and Major Projects pages, some hyperlinks that could be updated have been; others have been removed. On pages where there are hyperlinks that point to pages that are no longer active, a note will appear at the top of the page.
- For some of the pages, we have provided a link to an archived version of the original page on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. Please note that the Internet Archive Wayback Machine can be slow — it’s a huge repository and we are grateful for it.
