Each semester, the EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council sponsors an event for all EHE graduate students. Below you will find the current schedule and follow-up resources.
EHE Celebrates Graduate Student Appreciation Week, April 7-11, 2025

- EHE Appreciation Gift: Stop by your department’s student services office during the times listed below to pick up an appreciation gift (first come, first served).

Path Less Travelled – Panel for Industry Positions: Insights and Advice for Graduate Students

Description: The EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) is hosting a Panel for Industry Positions: Insights and Advice for Graduate Students event to provide graduate students with the opportunity to learn from graduates currently working in industry and ask any industry related questions they may have regarding the industry job search. Panelists will share their experiences job searching, why they chose to work in industry, and what their experience has been like so far. See attached flyer for panelist information!
Navigating Postdoc Experiences: Insights and Advice for Graduate Students

Description: Are you interested in learning more about postdoctoral positions? The EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) is hosting a panel of post-docs within EHE and other universities. The following opportunities will be available during the online panel event:
• Learn more about what a post-doctoral experience is like.
• Learn how one can be obtained.
• Gain perspectives from current post-docs about their experiences and recommendations
• Opportunity to get your questions answered directly from post-docs both at OSU and outside of OSU.
• Resources and the recording for those unable to attend the event.
EHE Navigating Negotiation for the Job Search
Date: February 26, 2025
Description: Please join Dr. Anastasia Snyder, Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the College of Education and Human Ecology, for a conversation about navigating the negotiation process when job searching. Attendees will have the opportunity to have their questions directly answered by Dr. Snyder who has experience on both sides of the negotiation process as an employee and as an employer.

Graduate Student Town Hall

- Description: All EHE graduate students are invited to join Senior Associate Dean, Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Outreach and Office of Graduate Education Noelle Arnold, the Office of Graduate Education staff, and the EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council in receiving updates regarding graduate student support in the College. Students will have the opportunity to meet graduate staff and leadership, receive updates and initiatives from the Office of Graduate Education and EHE GSAC, and have the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback and ideas regarding the graduate student experience. Come join us right after the EHE Research Forum!
EHE Navigating Negotiation for the Job Search

Description: The EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC) Navigating Negotiation for the Job Search event will provide graduate students looking for positions some guidance on negotiation. By attending this event, you will have the opportunity to get your questions answered directly from Dr. Anastasia Snyder who has experience with negotiation on both sides of the job search process as a job searcher and as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs hiring faculty in the College of Education and Human Ecology.
EHE Academic Interview Panel: November 15, 2023 from 2pm-3:30pm

Description: Are you an EHE Graduate student interested in learning about the academic interview process from newly hired faculty and faculty who have served on search committees? If so, please register to participate in the Academic Interview Panel hosted by the EHE Graduate Student Advisory Council, which is back by popular demand. Participants will
- have the chance to ask questions directly to panel members
- hear perspectives from faculty who have served on search committees and what they are looking for in candidates and recommendations they may have
- hear perspectives from new faculty who recently went through the process (things they did to prepare, things they wished they would have known, etc.)
- learn about typical length of interviews and populations you might be meeting with (faculty, leadership, staff, students, etc.)
- receive resources to support your search, such as example questions asked in interviews, resources to prepare for various aspects of the process (application materials, interview tips, dining etiquette, etc.)
