About Me
My name is Skylar (Sky) Edwards and I am starting my first year at Ohio State this fall semester. I am the first in my family to attend a university college and will be majoring in Athletic Training on a pre-med track. I wish to be a doctor in sports medicine or just medicine in general. I played several sports growing up, but in high school I varsity lettered in bowling and softball while also gaining a growing interest in Crossfit during my senior year. I didn’t plan to play sports in college which is why I chose a major that could keep me close to sports and also why I choose the Dunn Sports and Wellness Scholars Program (DSWS). I plan on trying out for the club softball team, but if I can’t manage the club with my academics than I definitely plan to participate in some intramurals to keep myself active and close to my roots. I love to travel and plan to travel abroad whenever I stop procrastinating on getting my passport. In high school I was apart of my school’s community service club and also plan to join one of the campus’s many service clubs they have to offer. As for my family life, I am from Huber Heights, Ohio about 15 minutes northwest of Dayton and am the only child of divorced parents who are both remarried. I have a step brother, 15, and a step sister, 20, on my dads side. I have a doggy named Jasmine who I adopted from our local shelter, and two chocolate labs, Trey and Ruby, at my moms and three dogs, Eve, Kodak, and Slurpie, at my dads. Outside of school, I volunteered at my local animal shelter and was able to achieve the status of manager at my job of three years. I’m looking forward to what the next four years have to offer; the football games, the friendships, the food, the experiences, and the unforgettable memories!! Go Bucks!
