Testimonial by Andrew Perry, EHE doctoral student in Educational Studies:

“The Quantitative Methodology Center is an excellent resource for students conducting quantitative research. I have sought consultations on multiple occasions, and each time the staff have been friendly and helpful. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of statistical support.”

QMC Spring 2022 Invited Speakers

Thanks to all who joined us on Zoom for the QMC Fall Speaker Series! We’re glad so many of you could come. We’ll feature more about our Spring 2022 speakers and include registration links in future News from the QMC, but below are brief descriptions of their research and dates of their presentations. We’ve heard they’re all great presenters and we’re looking forward to their talks!

Friday, February 11, 11am–12pm: Jeremy Foote, Assistant Professor at Purdue University

Dr. Foote studies how online communities function as organizations and how they influence collective belief formation. He will be presenting about his recent research on the use of quantitative methods in social media research.

Friday, March 25, 11am–12pm: Vivian Wong, Associate Professor at the University of Virginia

Dr. Wong’s research focuses on evaluating interventions in early childhood and K–12 systems. She works with the Special Education Research Accelerator (SERA) whose goal revolves around replication in the field of education. She will be presenting about data replication in education research.

Friday, April 15, 11am–12pm: Jim Fowler, Associate Professor at the Ohio State University

Dr. Fowler uses computational techniques to attack problems in pure mathematics. He will be speaking about the adaptive learning platform he built that powers MOOCulus, a massive open online course that features over 25 hours of calculus videos and exercises.
