Align Your Time Workshop

You are invited to: Align Your Time & Priorities: A Workshop on Cultivating Productivity & Work-Family Balance for Faculty & Graduate Students.

Presented by:  Dr. Claire Kamp-Dush, Associate Professor of HDFS

Dear faculty:

Academics are overwhelmed. Grant and publication expectations for faculty are high and competition is fierce. The distractions to academic writing, the one activity that most often advances academic careers, have never been more copious. There is a constant flow of email from administrators, colleagues and students, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are a click away, and enticing news articles and blogs are shared everywhere. Further, as more women than ever before are now graduating from college and moving on to receive PhDs, and as fathers have become more fully involved in family life, work-family balance is at the forefront of many academics’ minds.

This workshop is for faculty who want to take control of their time, enjoy the process, and live a connected life. We will discuss concrete strategies for aligning our time and our priorities. Specific sessions will include: Mapping Priorities and Reviewing our Time, Finding Time, Writing and Teaching Strategies, and Work-Life Balance.

We hope we can include you in this outstanding workshop with facilitator Dr. Claire Kamp-Dush.
