G.O.A.L.S.

One thing I am extremely passionate about is healthcare. As a Resident Advisor, I am hoping to host an event that will help student’s understand our current healthcare system, healthcare (or the lack thereof) in other countries, and have a healthy discussion about the views on how healthcare is perceived in the United States and how different types of health have different stigmas in our culture. As a RA, I am also in  a significant leadership role within my residence hall. I have been working on leading by example, especially when it comes to using inclusive language around my residents and other peers. I have also stepped beyond my expectations and am in the process of organizing a partnership between Out of Darkness-Columbus, a human trafficking awareness organization, and an upcoming student organization that one of my residents is creating.

I am also currently taking a pharmacy class, which is inspiring me to continue to get a minor in pharmaceutical sciences, which will greatly help me understand pharmaceuticals in my career as a nurse. Becoming a nurse is something I have always wanted to do, and it’s wonderful to expand my knowledge about my future profession beyond my required classes.
