Artifacts

My artifact is a picture of me with a group of fellow freshmen serving at a weekend retreat for Young Life. Young Life has been a big part of my first year as a student at Ohio State. I have met most of my friends, and have become best friends with many from this weekend.

This picture was taken at the Heartland Conference Center in Morengo, Ohio. The weekend consisted of volunteering from 6-midnight on a Friday, from 7 am-midnight on a Saturday, and then 7 am-noon on a Sunday. The work was long, tiring, and difficult, but rewarding in the fact that I got to serve alongside others who wanted the same goal as I did.

Through Young Life, I hope to get placed as a leader at a local high school in March, where I can continue to serve high schoolers and getting to befriend, mentor, and preach the gospel in a loving and relatable manner.

About Me

My name is Alex Domeck, and I am a freshman here at Ohio State. I went to Mason High School, which is located about 25 minutes north of Cincinnati. I am a second and youngest child. My brother is a senior at Ohio State. When I was looking at colleges, I knew two things. First off, I wanted to study finance. Secondly, I wanted a school located in an urban area. Ohio State fit that model for me, with Fisher College of Business being highly ranked, and with being so close to the city center of Columbus. I am also close with my brother, and having the opportunity to be near him again and to learn from him was too good to pass up. Now that I am here, I have begun to explore the opportunities and experiences that Fisher College of Business and The Ohio State University has to offer. I have gotten involved with Business Scholars, Young Life, and Business Builders Club. Before I graduate, I want to get an executive position on a club I am involved in and travel abroad.
