Purpose

The College of Nursing and the Graduate School requires that each DNE student develop a Final Document representing an independent project addressing an educational issue in academia or nursing professional development for individuals, groups, populations, or systems. The Final Document is reflective of an experience in nursing education scholarship that is completed under the direction of a faculty advisor and two other graduate faculty members. It is an expectation that this project will be executed within the context of the student’s DNE Clinical Immersion experience. The Final Project Document is a report that represents an individual student’s effort and collaboration with other students is not permitted. The specific format for the project document is negotiated with the DNE committee chair. The final project document may take the form of a:

  • Scholarly Paper
  • Manuscript suitable for publication

Following final revisions, the report is submitted in both electronic and paper formats to the College of Nursing. More information on the final project requirements can be found in this section of the Graduate School handbook [link added later].
