The DNE Program Subcommittee is a permanent subcommittee of the Graduate Studies Committee. It reports to the Graduate Studies Committee.
Membership
- Chair: The chair of the DNE program committee will be the DNE Program Director.
- Category M and P faculty are elected to serve a three-year staggered term.
- Elected Members: (5) – One from the P faculty and four from the doctorally-prepared M or P faculty.
- Students: (1) – One DNE student (volunteer) elected annually.
- Ex-officio: (1) – Graduate Studies Committee chairperson, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Educational Innovation
Functions
- Advises the GSC about DNE curriculum implementation including the development of new courses and proposals to alter the curriculum.
- Monitors programmatic quality indicators and consistency of the curriculum with the DNE program-level outcomes, NLN Core Competencies for Nurse Educators (Halstead, 2019), and ANPD Nursing Professional Development Scope & Standards of Practice (Harper & Maloney, 2022).
- Presents program evaluation data to the GSC annually.
- Reviews applications, conducts interviews of applicants, and recommends DNE program applicants for admission to the GSC.
- Implements and evaluates the DNE professional examination and the formats for the final project.
- Monitors progression of students in the DNE program.
