Diverticulitis

Our rationale for choosing this condition

Diverticulitis is a common disease that affects the United States, accounting for 1.5 million patient days in the hospital per year (American Gastroenterological Association, 2015).  When working with adults, we will frequently encounter patients with a history of diverticulitis, or with a current presentation of the disease. By choosing this topic for our case study, we will be able to better treat our future patients who may suffer from diverticulitis.
