About

The Diversity Leadership Symposium at The Ohio State University was created to provide an inter-departmental professional development event in the area of inter-cultural competence for higher education   professionals and college students.  It was designed with an emphasis on teaching real-life, usable skills, and understanding for the purpose of creating welcoming and inclusive environments.

The founding partners of the Symposium recognize that, in order to be an effective leader in any endeavor, one must have high-level skills   related to cultural competence, diversity, and inclusion in order to build teams who can successfully work across diverse individual and group lines in our global society.  Put another way, skills related to    diversity are at the core of effective leadership practice and service.

  1. Hello,
I am the Director of faculty recruitment and development at Toronto Metropolitan University in Ontario, Canada and I came across your website. We are also looking at doing something similar in terms of a focus on diversity in leadership and I would be very grateful for any information/insights you are able to share with me based on your experience running these events so far. They look impressive! If there was an opportunity for us to collaborate on a virtual event, I would be open to that as well!
    Many thanks,
    Zenab
