Simple by Design LED Clip Lamp
The Simple by Design LED Clip Lamp is a slim and versatile clip lamp that provides a smooth illuminating light that diffuses throughout a room. This inexpensive lamp only cost me around $15 and has lasted two years now and still is going strong. I had taken a liking to the clip lamp because I needed a desk lamp for my room due to the poor lighting that I get from my room light bulb. I also do not have a very big desk as a 15- inch laptop and a standard college ruled notebook would completely take up all the table space. The Simple by Design LED Clip Lamp has proven to be a perfect lamp that takes up minimal space and has taken over as my primary light in my room.
The LED Clip Lamp is a very simple device. It has a 12inch long flexible neck that can be pointed straight up to illuminate the whole room or it can be pointed towards a certain direction to maximize the light on one spot. The light comes from a 3,000K LED light bulb that is at encapsulated at the end of the neck and provides the light through a smooth and warm screen filter. At the other end of the neck is a 1 x 2inch clamp that can be placed on just about any table edge. The clamp is very sturdy and has ting grips to prevent slippage or damage to the table surface. Coming out at the bottom to the clamp is a long power cord that can reach up to 4 feet long. The power on/off switch is a simple switch that is near the clamp end of the power cord. There is very little noise when it comes to this lamp. The utility of the lamp is fairly simple, the only really important things that one must know about is the on/off switch, where to clamp the lamp, and where you want to point the light.
The LED light bulb is very effective in keeping a room well lit even though it is a very small bulb. With the lamps simple and aesthetically pleasing look, users will find that it takes up very little space and provides the flexibility of being on your desk. The lamp can be clamped onto a night stand for some later night reading, or on any surface that you may find a better location for the lamp. The lamp provides an easy and satisfying user experience. The basic idea of a lamp is to light a room with an easy to find on/off switch and the clip lamp offers that while taking up minimum space. A regular desk lamp is rather heavy, clunky, and takes up a lot of space and compared to the clip lamp can be a bit of a struggle to find where the on/off switch is. A desk lamp will most likely have the on/off switch under the lamp shade and the switch could either be the push through lever or the twisting lever. The mapping of the switch on a regular lamp is a bother. To turn the lamp on, one would have to twist and bend their wrist in an awkward position in order to reach the switch whereas the switch on the clip lamp is out in the opening near the base of the clamp.
The lamp ranks very high in efficiency due to it’s bendable neck. The bendable neck when pointed straight up provides a wide light that illuminates the entire room. If needed, the neck can bend to pointed straight down or bend 45 degrees to point into certain directions to provide direct light. The flexibility of the neck is an innovative affordance that many other lamps do not provide and is what puts this lamp above the rest.
I am really pleased with the clip lamp and would recommend that everyone should get one for themselves. The lamp is rather inexpensive and slim compared to the big clunky desk lamps and provide enough light to brighten up a room. The LED bulb can last up to 30,000 hours and never needs to be replaced, so when you play $15 for the lamp you are paying for a very reliable light source. The Simple by Design LED Clip Lamp is a very good piece of technology that is simple, has very visible affordances, and has very easy mapped controls. The clip lamp is a versatile high quality, and cheap device that does everything that it is designed for.
