Infographic
For the first part of this project, I created the following infographic to show learners the layout of the insurance contract. An annotation follows.
For this infographic, my learners are the general public. Most adults, if following the law, will have an auto insurance policy. My goal with the instruction is to help them better understand their policy. This infographic serves as a quick reference for them to visualize some of the information about their policy. To help them to easily view/read the infographic I tried to break the page up into sections by using boxes to break up the page. They can see that the infographic covers two things: the policy as a contract and the parts of the policy. This is good baseline information for the second part of the lesson, which will be the explanation and review of each coverage.
The top section is general information. I tried to allow for more space at the bottom to emphasize the parts of the policy. My learning objective is to have learners be able to recall the parts of the policy with 100% accuracy. By pulling this into its own section and visualizing the acronym with the icons, the learner should remember each part, but see how they fit together. This is also a good way to chunk the information to help the learner to recall the information. “D-I-C-E” is an easy acronym to remember, and then I tried to include examples for each part to help them recall the parts of the policy.
