Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: Delete these instructions and add your own post.]

Global Awareness: I plan on taking an international business class.
Original Inquiry: Honors & Scholars students understand the research process by engaging in experiences ranging from in-class scholarly endeavors to creative inquiry projects to independent experiences with top researchers across campus and in the global community. For example, consider research, creative productions or performances, advanced course work, etc.
Academic Enrichment: Honors & Scholars students pursue academic excellence through rigorous curricular experiences beyond the university norm both in and out of the classroom.
Leadership Development: Honors & Scholars students develop leadership skills that can be demonstrated in the classroom, in the community, in their co-curricular activities, and in their future roles in society.
Service Engagement: Honors & Scholars students commit to service to the community.

Above is a website that I created in my wordpress (websites) sandbox. I worked on this website for 7 weeks, and it was my original idea. I was able to utilize various plugins and themes through wordpress to establish a mock clothing store website. This was a beneficial experience as I had little to no experience with wordpress websites. I also am pursuing a career in public relations and therefore I think that social media and website setup is very important in that.

Marketing – High Street Presentation-1s448vr

The above presentation is a group project that I completed as part of a Marketing sandbox I had taken. The task was to create and present 3 original ideas for businesses to put in the new high street renovation. It also involved planning the layouts, logos and storefronts for the businesses. It was very fun to be creative and hear other ideas from other students on what type of places they would want on high street.

Below is a video that we filmed and edited to our intro to video sandbox. We were tasked with the opportunity to create a video at least 5 minutes in length and edit it. It was very time consuming but also very fun to be creative and to collaborate with my friends on the project.
