After the device has loaded the program, you can select what you would like to do next. You may view the instructions, view credits, view statistics and results, or play. To play the game, first select which user you would like to play as from the main menu screen. The game will begin immediately.

Main Menu Screen

The Game play:

Once the game begins, the background of the screen will turn to a color and the name of a color will be printed to the screen. If the name of the color printed, and the color of the screen match, tap anywhere on the screen with the stylus. If the name printed and the color of the screen do not match, tilt the Proteus to the left or right. For each set word and color pair that appears on the screen, you will be given 5 seconds to respond. After your response, a new word and color combination will appear. There are 15 pairs in all, and your goal is to respond correctly to as many pairs as possible as quick as possible.

Sample screen during the game. Notice the word “Green” does not match the blue background. The correct response would be to tilt the Proteus

Scoring:

Your score will be calculated based on your average reaction time to respond. An incorrect response will automatically give you the maximum possible reaction time of 5 seconds. The lower the score, the better you are.

What to do when you finish playing:

After you finish playing, you will be given the option to play again or return to the main menu. If you would like to view high scores, select the return to main menu option, and then select statistics and results on the main screen.

Tips:

When deciding if a word name and a background match, ignore the white highlight around the word printed to the screen.  There also may be a slight delay between the color change and the printing of the word to the screen. Don’t worry about it, it will not impact your recorded reaction time.

Have fun, think fast, good luck!
