My first year of college was unexpected in all of the best ways. For starters, the career path I thought I had wanted throughout high school changed after the fall semester. My grades were not where I wanted them to be and my heart was not in it. I am now pursuing a degree in health sciences on an occupational therapy track. This is a career I am passionate about, one that my whole heart is in. Outside of classes, I found my home away from home, Cru. Cru is an Christian organization on campus that allows me to practice my faith within a loving and accepting community. Finally, through Health Sciences Scholars, I met wonderful friends. HSS gave us the unique opportunity to live in the same floor with fellow HSS members. We are all in similar majors and pursuing similar career paths. My friends have been essential in the success of my freshman year and I couldn’t be more thankful to HSS for bringing me to them.
