Global Course in Major

Class Description

Accepting my invitation into Alpha Zeta Partners enrolled me into 12 credit hours at The Ohio State University with a hybrid of University of São Paulo Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ). In the classroom setting, we were able to experience the opportunities of being a student in a Brazilian college. During lectures, we had professors that researched and specialized in topics including history, economics, environmental sustainability and culture relative to Brazil and international learnings. The first three weeks were spent becoming acquainted with the lectures through papers, group exercises and a final exam. At the end of the lecture series we took a final and completed a group project.

Class Reflection

The lectures linked ideas with agricultural industry visits. Being able to take classes in a foreign country gave me a deeper appreciation for education. Knowledge is power. This experience opened doors and minds to creating a global mindset.
