1st Year in Review

Coming in as a freshman at Ohio State, I was skeptical about how I would navigate my first year in the midst of a pandemic. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I commuted to campus for the first semester and took most of my classes online. Although this wasn’t an ideal start to my college experience, I was able to stay in touch with my friends and family back home and continued working my high school job. I was still adjusting to everything happening in a virtual setting but eventually learned to navigate my way through classes on Zoom and made some virtual friends along the way!

For the second semester, I joined my fellow peers and lived on campus in Park Stradley Hall. My roommate and I were both placed on the 7th floor, separate from other Health Science Scholars, but that didn’t stop us from making life-long connections with the people we met. Alongside classes, I joined a research lab focusing on the body’s immune response post spinal cord injury. I also got a student job on campus working at Prior Hall. Wrapping up my first year, I learned the importance of embracing change and adapting to new situations. Most of all, I’m excited to see where the next three years at Ohio State drives my goals and ambitions for the future.
