Our Virtual Technologies Team

Amy Darragh, PhD, OTR/L is the Director of the Division of Occupational Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at OSU.  Through her research she develops and investigates interventions and virtual technologies for improving health and safety outcomes in both adult and pediatric populations.

 

 

 

Jennifer Lundine, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Dr. Jennifer Lundine is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University and is the director of the Childhood Cognition, Communication, and Brain Injury Lab (CABI Lab). Her research focuses on improving gaps in access to and utilization of services designed to support children with ABI and identifying specific approaches that would improve assessment and treatment practices following pediatric ABI. CABI Lab

 

 

Steve Lavender, PhD, CPE, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Systems Engineering (OSU College of Engineering) and the Department of Orthopedics (OSU College of Medicine).  His research focuses on intervention development and evaluation, for a wide range of health care providers, including first responders and home health care workers.

 

 

Carolyn Sommerich, PhD, CPE, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrated Systems Engineering (OSU College of Engineering) and the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.  Her research efforts are focused on addressing occupational safety and health concerns of workers in various sectors of the economy, including workers in manufacturing, healthcare, and distribution centers.

 

 

Barbara Polivka, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the Associate Dean and Research Professor in the School of Nursing at The University of Kansas.  Her primary research interest is exploring how environmental factors in the home can affect those living in the home, particularly individuals with health conditions, such as asthma.

 

 

 

Celia Wills, PhD, RN, is an Associate Professor in OSU’s College of Nursing.  She is interested in health-related decision processes, shared decision making of health care consumers and providers, and person-centered interventions for improving decision-making and health-related outcomes.

 

 

 

Sarah Anderson, OTR/L, OTD is a PhD student in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Her area of expertise in the use of virtual technologies in rehabilitation, particularly among adolescents and young adults with I/DD. In August 2020, Dr. Anderson received funding as PI from the Exploratory Research Projects Grant Program at the Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP) as Principal Investigator and in 2019 she was awarded a TechHub Student Project Grant for her project the “VR Bus”.

Angela Provenzano is an OTD student currently working on the BWC project, developing scripts for the home healthcare worker app, and also coordinates the IACQUIRE Parent Council. Ms. Provenzano also was awarded the Alfred E Schweitzer Fellowship for her project supporting kinship caregiving through the Kinship Caregivers Connect (KCC) online support group, which she designed and implemented.
