The final design marks the most changes as all of the electrical systems were added. On the electrical side, a CDS cell filter and cone were added, most visible in the bottom view of the robot. Line following was fully added to the robot using two double angle brackets and 3 analog optosensors. The largest mechanical change is located on the lift itself where a plastic spoon handle was added to toggle the lever more effectively. Refer to the front view below for a clear image of the handle. Counterweights were added in the form of two rolls of pennies located behind the guides on the lift system and an extra piece of scrap metal that was attached to the bottom, as seen in the bottom view above. The additional weight made ascension of the ramp far easier. A piece of acrylic was added to mount the QR code. A chain was also modeled in SolidWorks for this model. The wheel mounting system was updated, adding a second pair of modified double angle brackets to the outside of the wheel. This system was more effective at keeping the wheels aligned straight. The addition of fasteners marks the final design of the D.A.R.E. robot that was used in the robot competition.
