The team was granted with the indication of “G7”, but the team designated themselves as “Team D.A.R.E.”. The name originated from the first initial of each team member (Dominique, Antonio, Ralph, and Evan) and has grown into some interesting acronyms throughout the design process. The team was invited by The Ohio State University Research and Engineering Development Team to develop a prototype for an unmanned vehicle capable of performing tasks for a volcanic research site. Team D.A.R.E. began the design project without experience with robotics and has surpassed the expectations of the instructional staff by being one of the first teams ready for testing and by creating a consistent, competitive robot. The team members have worked together on every aspect of the production of the prototype, but each member managed a particular aspect of the process.
