Legacy Week

For a long time, I didn’t think that many people cared about other people’s health or even their own in some cases. However, I found myself to be very wrong when I saw how many people came to my team’s presentation about the necessity for  improvement in  personal hygiene and wellness for all people. I looked at the faces of those who attended and saw that there were so many others just like my team and I who cared just as much as we did about the wellness of the people. This experience will surely stay in my mind as my team and I progress to make this world a better and healthier place.

Hospital Visits

Since I moved here to Ohio, I got in contact with a person whose name Mohammed and he has been suffering from MS, multiple sclerosis, for 3 years now. I started visiting him as a stranger at first because I didn’t really know him. However, he really was such a loving person that I felt like I knew him for years after about a month of seeing him. Up to this day, he is still fighting that disease and every time I go and see him, I see the strength and patience he has fighting this disease. That really impacted my life a lot and made me fight through every passing moment I experience. I will continue to support my friend and help him fight to the end, and with that I myself grow as a person.

For those of you who don’t know Myers Briggs, it is a test to examine one’s personality. ENTJ turned out to be my Myers briggs results, did it surprise me? Not at all. I am the type of person who loves to meet so many new people  and that fit right with Extrovert. I am also very creative in my way of thinking of things and that also fit in with my description of Intuition. Also both descriptions of Thinking and Judging were very descriptive of me because I am the type of person who is very factual and value justice over feeling and I love to plan things out always.

Back in my senior year in High school, I was offered to volunteer teaching elementary students about my culture. So I decided to go and educate these little kids about what my culture is like, and I imagined this experience to be one that was going to be quite frustrating. However, it turned out to be the complete opposite. The fact that my presentation turned out to be easy going wasn’t what surprised me, it was the kids’ intense passion for learning more about new things. They seemed to enjoy every part of presentation with extraordinary question that I couldn’t even answer at times! This experience turned my world upside down all of a sudden. I felt like I learned from the kids more than they learned from me. They taught me to approach my academics in an entirely different way. They showed me how the power of interest and curiosity can make a person so successful in his life. After this experience, I learned to always enjoy my materials of study so that I would perform the best I can without feeling any kind of stress or depression.
