About Me

Hello! My name is Lauren Dahler (she/her), and I am a fourth-year Eminence Fellow at The Ohio State University. I am pursuing a double major in International Studies and Public Affairs as well as minors in French and History.

My academic and research interests lie in conflict and peacebuilding, with an emphasis on how societies and individuals heal and build peace in post-conflict settings from a grassroots level. I am currently pursuing globally-focused research, rooted in feminist and sociological theories, with a group of women engaging in peace-building initiatives. in Uganda. This project will serve as the basis of my Honors Undergraduate Thesis. I also serve as a research assistant for Dr. Hollie Nzitatira and her work on the Rwandan Genocide.

In my free time, I serve as a Co-Founder, Vice President, and Outreach Director of Cultivate Columbus, an organization dedicated to ending food insecurity through community-led gardening initiatives in Columbus.

I plan to take an extra semester to study abroad in France and complete my French minor, after which I will pursue a master’s in conflict and peacebuilding abroad. In the future, I hope to pursue a career as a peacebuilding practitioner at an NGO that emphasizes community-led initiatives, culturally competent and equitable policy, and justice and healing for survivors.
