Dear Students,
The Global Engagement Travel Scholarship application is currently open!
Who is it for?
-Students planning to travel for immersive activities related to one health support their career goals. Travel can be international or within the U.S.
-Examples of trips that are eligible are research trips, clinical training (externships), study abroad, or service learning.
What are the requirements for applying?
-Travel must include both a veterinary and a cultural component. When we say cultural, that may include working with people who are different from OSU VMC clientele, working at a bilingual or mobile practice, getting to know the culture of an organization you may work for after graduation, learning nuances of practice with species/ clients that the OSU VMC does not see, or working with colleagues and communities in international settings.
-Students must be in good academic standing and a full-time student.
-Travel must be for a minimum of one week and start after the award is received.
-Completion of VET PREV 7760 Opportunities in Global Veterinary medicine or a waiver based on a similar course is a prerequisite for the international awards.
What amount of funding is available?
-Awards can vary from $500 to $5000 and cover travel expenses (flight, mileage, housing, food, etc.).

When and how can I apply?!
-The global engagement travel funds are awarded twice a year, once in the fall semester (applications due September 29th at 5:00 pm; awards by mid-October) and once in the spring semester.
-Funds should be used within one year of the award, so you can get an award in fall for any travel between October 14th, 2023, and October 14, 2024.
-The components of the application are an application form and a budget for expected expenses both of which are in one Qualtrics survey.
