Week 11-12

Out of all the projects I have worked on in this class, this has been the most enjoyable to have created. It also helped to have worked on this project with Andrew. Using the iMovie app on the mac, we took a video off of YouTube and placed it inside the app. Andrew then found multiple pictures off of various social media sights and cropped of the heads in the pictures. I then went frame by frame to move and animate the heads onto the bodies, a very tedious task. Our main goal of this video is to hopefully make a majority of the class laugh and bring a smile to everyone’s faces. Hopefully we accomplish this, but the main story viewers are to grasp from this video is too don’t let things get you down. Find the humor inside everything. Don’t let certain photos, in this particular case, make you shy away from things and embarrass you. Take what is holding you back and embrace it.

Week 8

For this assignment, I decided to ridicule myself and all of my roommates again. I took pictures from everyones Facebook page and used the the quick selection tool to highlight everyones head. I then used the eraser tool to erase the backgrounds of each picture and placed my roommates heads over the power rangers. I upped the brightness and contrast for a few of the pictures to make the heads stand out more. Finally, I added the “power rangers” text below the image and lowered the extrusion depth to make the 3D effect to it.

Week 7

I decided to re-use the photo I used in Week 5. Editing the photo again was a rather simple task. I only needed to add in the four text boxes, as well as the logo for 4 Paws. I match the color of the magazine title “DOGE” with the color of the wall in the background. The other three text boxes colors were matched with the floor and the trim color. I choose these specific fonts because I felt that they were easy to read and stood out to me.

Week 6

I was able to capture this long exposure photo from the window of my bedroom. I was able to capture multiple of these photo’s, but I was lucky with this one in particular because iI was able to capture a car turning into out parking lot. With this photo I decreased the brightness of the entire photo while increasing the contrast a bit. I decided to change the colors up to make it feel like it was in the movie Tron.

I decided to use an old photo and edited it. With this photo, I took used the twirl filter to get the swirl of the pasta and the plate. Next I adjusted the brightness of the background to make the photo what I think looks like it was painted. Finally, I adjusted the colors within the pasta to make it brighter and stand out more.

I also used an older photo with this picture. I used the clone stamp tool to remove some of the run-off water from the ocean in the bottom right section. Next, I added a lens flare filter directly on the sun. Finally, I went to the filter gallery and used the water paper filter to achieve this photo. I also used the gradient tool to add some light orange color to upper section of the photo.

For my second long exposure photo. I used this photo where I captured an OSU us driving across my camera lens. I was able to capture an extended photo of the bus across the image. With this photo, I used the wave and pinch filter the pinch the middle section of the bus inward and then made the bus a wavy pattern. I adjusted the coloring of the photo to brighten up the colors of the bus and the background.

Week 5

For my portrait photo I chose to use the picture of a 4 Paws training dog. The photo on the left is the edited photo and the one on the right is the original. As you can see, I removed the leash and collar off the dog as well as my friends knee and her shadow. I was able to remove these features using the copy tool. I also brightened the background of the photo as well as the color of the dogs fur.

For my last free photos, I greatly enjoyed creating these photos. After hearing the words “please ridicule your friends”, I took that as a mission. For each photo I utilized the magnetic lasso tool to highlight the portion of the photo I wanted to crop out. Once highlighted, I used the magic eraser tool to erase the background of the image. I then placed the cropped out image where I wanted it to be, thus creating these lovely photos.

Week 4

I captured this photo using a closed composition. This photo tells the story of my Italian heritage. I group up eating pasta almost everyday and it was so popular in my family that it was even served on holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas.

This photo is a representation of a open composition. The message received from this photo should be one of relaxation and escape. People should find the time from their busy lives to take a moment with friends or family to relax and escape the noise and stressors of reality.

A thirds composition was used the capture this photo. In the picture is a golf ball and golf club. My brother and I grew up as golfers, my father grew up a golfer, and so did my grandfather. Golfing has been apart of me my entire life and it is my source of escape from the stressors of school and jobs.

This is a picture of the north entrance of the shoe using a symmetrical composition. Here is where I go and scream my head off with 100,000 other fans for the greatest football school in the nation. My favorite place on the entire campus and where all Ohio State fans can connect as one.

Week 3

This is a picture of the dorm I lived in freshman year, Drackett Tower. Looking at these photos, I am reminded of many memories I had living in Drackett. The warmer photo of Drackett makes me think of all the good moments and all of the wonderful people I met there. The colder photo reminds me of some of the darker, unfortunate moments that happened during my freshman year.

This is a picture of the business school located on Ohio State’s campus. I choose this photo because I am one of many business students that attend The Ohio State University. While looking at the over exposed photo, I see all the bright colours and think of the bright future ahead of me. What comes to mind when looking at the under exposed photo is the hard road that is ahead of me.
