Sports:

Though I take academics very seriously, sports are, by far, the most important aspect of my life. I lettered in three sports, Golf, Basketball, and Track & Field in each of my years in high school, minus basketball senior year because I was training for track specifically. Golf is the love of my life. 10% physical and 90% mental, it poses as both a competitive sport against actual opponents, and most importantly to myself, which is why I love it so much. The first photo is from September, immediately after I shot my career low, 64 (6 under par) from the men’s tees. Golf is my sanctuary, my go-to happy place. There, I am free. The second photo is from the OHSAA State Track & Field Tournament from June. I won Districts, placed 2nd in Regionals, and then I placed 9th in the entire state of Ohio. It was an unbelievably unique experience, and one that I will never forget. To have my teachers, coaches, teammates, and friends all make the trip to support me is truly something that words cannot describe. I’m extremely blessed.

Academics:

This is a poorly dimmed photo directly following Graduation. I am holding my cap, which says, “Just Did It.” with a huge Block O in the center and the Nike Check-mark at the bottom. I am standing with my best friend and rock from high school, Olivia. This image represents several things to me. First, it reminds me of the outstanding academic achievements I accomplished. I have my golden sashes for Valedictorian and President of Student Council hanging proudly around my neck, along with my “choking sash” for National Honor President. Also, I’m wearing two golden medallions and five colored cords for my being Valedictorian and for each class that I was honored as being “Student of the Year” in. But those are all tangible reminders. The real reason this image strikes me so hard is because of Olivia. She has been, and to this day, is the reason I don’t drown! She has a way of knowing what is going on in my head, even when I, myself, may not quite know. I am so extremely blessed to have her in my life, and of all the things I have accomplished in the past.
