Over the past 50 years there has been an incredible change in mindset when it comes to the topic of the concussion. With what once started as being described as dizziness and confusion is now called Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). A disease of the brain that has yet to have a cure. Dr. Bennett Omalu first discovered the disease in 2002 and thus has made significant discoveries since.

There has been a huge shift in all major contact sports (football, hockey, lacrosse, and soccer) in regards to equipment along with rules and regulations. The concussion is being treated as a very serious incident as it should be. The evolution of the concussion has come a long way, but there is still a long way to go.

Education is the key when it comes to this mysterious disease of the brain.
