Connect with other student activists and stay up to date on the latest in social policy and pro-democracy advocacy with our bi-monthly policy and advocacy supervision. We take up pressing issues with new topics each session and create space to learn from each other.

Open to all students and counts for weekly supervision for those in field placement.

Democracy needs you.

In this critical moment for preserving democratic norms and structures, the Ohio State University College of Social Work is launching the CSW Democracy Fellowship. This program will enhance capacity around nonpartisan voter engagement efforts directed at health and human service providers and clients.

This 10-week paid position supports students to conduct nonpartisan voter engagement in partner agencies. Students will learn foundations of nonpartisan voter engagement, build connections with local advocates and plan events to connect clients and community to the political process.

De-escalation for Defending Democracy: Election Protection Peacekeeper Training

Amidst increased political tensions, nonpartisan voter advocates, including social work professionals, are using trained peacekeepers to diffuse potential conflict at polling locations and ensure everyone can cast their ballot free from interference.

This training will provide an overview of de-escalation skills and behaviors, explain rules for nonpartisan voter engagement, and connect participants to volunteer opportunities as Election Protection Peacekeepers for the Ohio Special Election on Tuesday, August 8.
