Blog Behavior (Rules & Guidelines)

Our blog will be a safe space of critical thinking where we will share our required assignments and engage in academic conversations. This space expects you to participate in our conversations in a friendly and respectful manner.

The following are some simple guidelines of respectful behavior expected in our blog.

1. Think Before You Post

Remember, your posts will be read by your fellow classmates and are part of a bigger class conversation. Be conscious of what and how you are writing before you post any comments.

2. Know your audience.

Ask yourself who is going to be reading your writings and how they could respond to your words. This will help you consider how our ideas can impact others and how our work gains a different meaning when thinking about who is going to be its target audience.

3. Constructive Comments

We are creating an active learning space where everyone’s perspectives, ideas, and opinions are part of the critical thinking process. Therefore, let’s participate in constructive criticism that promotes further learning instead of plain disagree and agree.

4. Respect each other.

Respect is one of the most important expectations of our discussions and blog activities. Let’s be respectful of our different perspectives and ideas.  We are building a friendly and academic learning environment.

5. Use appropriate language and proper grammar and spelling.

Your blog is part of a university course, therefore, is pertinent that you review your writings before submitting them. Is important to be careful with your writing since it can be easy to make grammar/spelling mistakes.

6. Write with purpose and focus.

For comments, try to answer questions, mark a point you have, or add meaningful information that will contribute to our conversations. This will provide practice for your critical writing and thinking. Let’s encourage constructive criticism that helps us learn.
