THE Diamond Developers: Activity #1 City Emotions

We agreed that this building lacked any creativity or interaction with its surrounds and with people. The color is bland and the windows are small. The building overall is not interesting and leaves much to be desired.

Disappointment: While we all agreed that the idea of the South Campus Gateway project was an excellent idea, we think the project overall is very generic and almost looks cheap.

Nostalgia: We all agreed that this photo symbolizes well something that has been in the community for a long time. It may bring back memories for older generations and helps bring a community feel to the busy high street corridor.

Shame: We agreed in our group that this development is not only an eyesore to the community, but also is holding back the huge potential this prominent intersection (Lane and High) has.

Wonder/Surprise: We agreed that is interesting dead end in the street created quite the reaction from the group. While it does disrupt the street grid, the closing off of this intersection made an almost exciting and vibrant community feel. People were interacting with each other I'm this calm and relaxed space. There were benches and patios, restaurants and coffee shops. We agreed it could be even better with some green space or a small pocket park, even.
