Week 16: Future Directions for CRT

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) provided a number of webcasts seminars from the 2015 annual meeting held earlier this year. The series titled And We Are Still Not Saved (Redux): Critical Race Theory in Education 20 Years Later, includes many presenters, most known for their work in CRT. Part of the sessions are a continuum of the research article published by Dixson & Rousseau (2006) titled And We Are Still Not Saved: CRT in Education 10 years later. The sessions also aim to commemorate the 20th anniversary of CRT in Education, provide examples from new and established CRT scholars and discuss actual next steps with regard to CRT in education.

After watching each of the sessions (10 total), reflect by discussing your thoughts on the progress that has been made (or not) as it relates to CRT in education. What do you think about the next steps discussed in the video? Based on what you have learned this semester, from the reading today and this video, list an additional next step that was not discussed in the video and describe how it could potentially help education as a field.
