Week 11: Affirmative Action

In this short Crash Course video on Affirmative Action, the speaker continues with his talk about the Civil Rights movement and the shift that produced Affirmative Action. They attempt to explain what Affirmative Action is, who it is serves and why it still exists. The speaker also shares personal opinions that may not necessarily reflect those who watch. The second video is an additional opinionated piece that also describes history of Affirmative Action and addresses a few interesting questions.

Watch both videos using the links below. Formulate your own opinion of what Affirmative Action is and who it benefits and/or serves. In addition to your personal opinion on the topic, consider this scenario: You are a professor who has been asked to help an organization write a piece on Affirmative Action. They believe Affirmative Action is important and they want you to help them argue why it is important by using CRT. Think about how you would use CRT to support Affirmative Action and help this organization.
