Spring Break Review

This spring break was very eventful. I started off break by going to Goodyear, Arizona (practically Phoenix) to visit my Dad, who was there for work. My mom also flew in and met us there. My Dad is the Directior of Ballpark Operations for the Cleveland Indians, so he goes to Arizona every spring for spring training. While in Arizona, the weather was pretty bad, being cold and rainy almost every day. My Dad’s apartment was right by an outlet mall and shopping center, so we walked there every day for dinner and shopping. On the day with the nicest weather, my mom and I ran a 6K trail run through Black Canyon, while my dad did the 10K. It was really beautiful and I really enjoyed running a race, since I hadn’t since high school. After the race, we were given free pie, and it was very delicious. We also went to a Mexican restaurant and had really good tacos. I learned that I really love nopales! My mom and I left Arizona on Tuesday, and flew back to Cleveland, where I am from. It was really nice to be home for a little bit! When I wasn’t sleeping or being lazy, I worked at the retirement home I’ve been working at for almost 3 years now. I’m happy that I made some money, and I actually really enjoyed catching up with everyone from work.

Over this spring break, I learned a little more about myself. I traveled on a plane alone for the first time, and I knew I could do it, but it really helped me gain confidence in my independence. Also, being with my family and at home made me realize how much I really missed the simplicity of my old routine and the comfort my family brings me. I also thought I would hate going back to work, but I actually enjoyed the time I spent there. I would say that this spring break was successful!
