Housing for Health Equity: Supporting Health Outcomes through Stable Quality Housing

Course Description:

Housing and is an important social determinant of health and shapes our lived experience in multiple ways. Unhealthy, unstable and unaffordable housing can be detrimental to both physical and mental health. The course provides an intensive focus on the intersection of housing and health, with an emphasis on housing intervention strategies. The course will include both classroom based lectures and visits to housing intervention sites in the Columbus area. Lectures will be held in the morning and site visits will occur in the afternoon. Course learning goals include: understanding the mechanisms for how housing impacts health, an introduction to housing market dynamics, identification of model practices to support stable housing and health.
