Subjective and Objective Lines

This is my “Still Life Portrait” Objective Drawing, trying to use consistent line width and weight throughout.

This is my “Still Life Portrait” Subjective Drawing, where I allowed myself to use a varying line width and weight. I do feel this one did not turn out as well, and I need to work on using Subjective Lines effectively.

  1. Nice drawings! I can see your measurement skills are getting better. It is interesting how these drawings have slightly different qualities even though they are similar in many ways. I can see your light underdrawing in the subjective line drawing, maybe when you make the another subjective line drawing, think about how those lines can be incorporated into the drawing instead of hidden. They are very light lines, so you can also think of them as a variation of subjective line with contrasted with your other marks on the page.

I can tell you took the time to document the images nicely. However, they are a bit dark. You can try playing with the white balance / brightness levels when editing your images. Or photograph the image in a brighter location in the first place.
