About Me

Hello! My name is Emily Corbett and this is my first year at The Ohio State University. I am from Westerville, Ohio and I am majoring in Forestry Fisheries and Wildlife. I live near a wetlands preservation area and often get to see lots of wildlife such as deer or ducks that hang out nearby. Currently, I am not sure the exact direction I would like to go with my major or what specific field I would like to pursue. There is a whole array of specializations and careers within FFW and I hope that as I spend more time on campus and in my classes I can learn and explore more about the different career paths that are open to me and that interest me.

My goals this year are to both do well academically in my classes and to gain more knowledge and experiences from them. I hope to use the information and skills that I gain from them later on in life. I would like to make the most of my time here at The Ohio State University by getting involved! I plan to pursue and participate in as many academic and extracurricular opportunities as I can, both in SENR Scholars and outside of it.

I know that there are many different nature preservation areas on campus and this year I am very excited to explore them. I’m looking forward to going on many hikes and treks as well! I can’t wait to see the different areas teeming with wildlife that campus has to offer, and to just be out in nature.
