The Starting Point

Low Field, Low Stakes: This is the first instrument users new to our facility will be trained on.
Strong Enough: Though the low field provides low sensitivity, this instrument is sufficient for proton detected esperiments, and some carbon experiments if you have enough sample.
New Enough: The instrument still has a physical BSMS controller, but you won’t have to spin the wheel. We’re running TopSpin 2.1 with topshim support and the probe includes an ATMA module for automated tuning and matching.

Know Your Experiment: Reservation based usage through Topspin 3.6 enables better workflow for targeted experiments such as 1D TOCSY and 1D NOESY.
Shim Report: Get a report of the quality of the shim and decide whether more work is needed to get the data quality you need.
Leverage Automation: IconNMR is fully configured and available. Take full advantage of the SampleCase autosampler, just remember to make a reservation and to log into the icon-nmr account rather than your usual Domain.

Optimize Your Time: 100% Walk-up usage with schedule managed by IconNMR. Select your experiments, put your samples in the autosampler, and receive data by email.
The Rules:
- Daytime is from 8am-7pm.
- Users are permitted up to 2 hours of daytime usage.
- A daytime experiment may not be longer than 30 minutes.
- Experiments longer than 30 minutes must be submitted to the nighttime queue.
- However, nighttime experiments up to 1 hour long may be pulled into the daytime queue if the instrument is idle.
- These rules are subject to change.
Get Your Data Remotely: Raw data is available on the shared Instrumentation network folder. Data will be deleted after 14 days.

Keep It Routine: If you want to run targeted experiments such as 1D NOESY or if you have challenging samples, the AVIII will be the instrument for you.
