In 2001, Dr. Coppola became Staff Scientist within the Mouse Cancer Genetics Program of the Center for Cancer Research of the National Cancer Institute (CCR/NCI/NIH) in Frederick, MD, USA

Dr. Coppola joined The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and James Comprehensive Cancer Center in March 2010. At that time, he established the Genetically Engineered Mouse modeling Core.
